Sean Kaufman, the CEO and Founding Partner of Safer Behaviors, is a seasoned leader with over 27 years of experience in infectious disease management. Prior to assuming the role of CEO in 2011, Sean held distinguished positions such as Senior Associate and Director of the Science and Safety Training Program at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. In this capacity, he spearheaded the training of professionals in high-containment laboratories worldwide, operating at BSL3 and BSL4 levels.
Before his tenure at Emory University, Sean served in the Office of Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout his career, Sean has achieved numerous professional milestones, including authoring the acclaimed book "Prepare and Protect: Safer Behaviors in Laboratory and Clinical Settings" (2020).
Sean's expertise has been recognized through various accolades, such as the Honor Award from the National Center for Infectious Diseases at the CDC, as well as three Distinguished Service Awards for his contributions during the SARS outbreak, Anthrax Attacks, and September 11th response efforts from the Department of Health and Human Services.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Sean courageously stood by his convictions, facing personal and professional challenges for his opposition to universal lockdowns and injection mandates. He provided expert declarations for landmark legal cases, including victories in Grace Community Church v. County of Los Angeles and Daily Wire v. OSHA, advocating for the rights of businesses and individuals.
Sean's impactful work has been featured in documentaries such as "Liberty Lockdown" in 2020 and the upcoming "The Essential Church" in August 2023. He holds a Master's in Public Health and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from San Diego State University, and is certified in public health and biological risk management by the IFBA.
